Description
The cashew nut, or cashew apple, is the nut-bearing fruit of an Amazonian tree: the cashew tree. Containing a smooth, light-colored, crescent-shaped seed, it develops at the end of edible false fruits called cashew apples. The cashew-apple structure resembles an "upside-down heart," hence its name (ana- = upside-down, -carde = heart). In the 16th century, the cashew tree was first exported by the Portuguese to their colonies in Africa and India. Our Camargue Salt and Rosemary Cashew Nut is carefully salted and dry-roasted. Infused with rosemary, its powerful flavor will not leave you indifferent and will surprise your guests!
