Description
The cashew nut, or cashew, is the nut-bearing fruit of an Amazonian tree: the cashew tree. Containing a smooth, light-colored, crescent-shaped seed, it develops at the end of edible false fruits called cashew apples. The cashew-apple structure resembles an "upside-down heart," hence its name (ana- = upside-down, -carde = heart). In the 16th century, the cashew tree was first exported by the Portuguese to their colonies in Africa and India. Our Truffle Cashew Nut is carefully salted and dry-roasted, and flavored with grated Provençal truffle. Its powerful flavor will not leave you indifferent and will surprise your guests!
